Default Conch

Is there anything special about a conch or is it just a big snail? Just wondering why one would want to spend so much on one. Is it just for diversity?

Apparently they (fighting conch's in particular) have an excellent reputation for keeping the sandbed clean. They apparently have an appetite for detritus, diatoms and slime algae. I have two in my tank for diversity, but also to test their cleaning ability.

Not sure if mine are fighting conchs or another type, but they are a cool addition.

I believe Seacare has some left.
