Hornby island low tide reef exploring
I havent posted in ages but to reintroduce myself to anyone who might not know me
im reef-kid, from victoria bc also known as fishboy or david. I just spend a week on hornby island at my family camp site, it was one of the lowest tides i have seen on sandpiper (a rocky sandstone/volcanic beach) filled with crab, oysters, scallops, abalone, octopus etc... its some of the clearest and warmest (26 degrees celcius in the bay due to the hot sand/sandstone) water I have ever seen around the coast. so i have a few pics of my fun time exploring i thought that otherwould really enjoy some of these pics sea blubber at big tribune bay. 3 feet across! me with one of the cod i caught while kayaking around the bay with my fishing rod this is top down of 3 large 5+ inch abalone on the reef I wanted this shirt but it was expensive ABALONE under an abalone red urchin in water and out of water hope you enjoy reef kid |

I've always hated the name "sea blubber." It's such an insulting name for a creature so beautiful under the water. Anyways, always nice to see people appreciating the amazing marine life BC has to offer.
