How does one "gently" break LR to extract a eunicid worm?
I don't want to use freshwater as there are some nice fanworms and good hitchhikers and this is the piece of rock I chose to diversify my tank (though I didn't realize it also had the eunicid worm). The rock in question is the size of my hand (5-6" long 4-5" wide, fairly dense). |

I have always used a chisel, but that is not that gentle. I suppose if you were gentle with the hammer you could do it maybe.

Maybe with a tool such as a dremel you could notch out the area you want.

If you can remove the rock from the tank...... just use a hammer

Maybe you could trap it? I'm not sure what you would wanna use for bait though. At least this way you wouldn't have to break up your rock.

I haven't tried it, but I would consider lightly drilling it, possibly with a small masonry drill bit.

I use a slot screwdriver with hammer. A couple light taps on the screwdriver, and splits rock nicely

I have heard of people pouring soda water into the worm's hole and he just pops out.
