A Little Bit of Random Flow

I would like to get a little bit of ramdom flow in my tank (inexpensively) to supplement the Koralia powerheads. Should I go with:

Option 1: Natural Wave Package - Regular

iused a zoo med power sweep in my rsm. its been 2+ monthes and its still sweeping( had a sand issue but a quick fw dip seemed to do the job). also its turbulance with the stock PH's has created a (wave like pulse) within a radius or the zoo med.

Just fyi. my hairy mushies have doubled in size and they were abour 4 inches to start. my toadstool loves it and so does my gorg.

IME, these things seize up. I ran one on one of my FOWLR MaxiJet 1200 powerheads. I even resorted to buying a second one to simply switch out while soaking/cleaning the other. But even after cleaning, it seized up again in short order. Long story short, waste of cash, IMO.

Mark, you are saying the Hydor Rotating Deflector seized? That was my next choice after the Zoo Med Powersweep.

Yup, the Hydors. I've also seen one in an LFS display that was turning slowly and erratically. Just a matter of time for that one, IMO. Maybe others have had success with them, but not me. I chucked both my Hydors in the garbage.

Ran a hydor deflector on my aquapod for over a year and never cleaned it once.
it never seized on me and I wasn't even the one who bought it so it was probably a good year old by the time it came rotating to me...

I ran a couple of hydor rotating thingys for about a year with no problems. Then things started going south pretty quickly with them and they stopped rotating no matter what I did. It seems that the rotating mechanism, which involves a lot of little plastic gears, has some pretty tight tolerances and if something is out by just a little bit as the result of wear the whole thing stops.
