Default Is a MJ 1200 too much flow for a 24x24 tank?

Its a 40gallon cube, 24x24x18, is an MJ1200 too much flow? My shrimp hide in the and don't swim around like in my last setup, and I am concerned that high flow may be their issue.

Thanks for any opinions!

Jeff

I have a 2 maxijet 1200s, a koralia 2 and a hagen 402 in my 60g cube tank (24"x24"x24") so no I don't think a maxijet 1200 is too much

Might just be the new setup keeping them shy for now. If flow really is an issue design the rockwork to create calmer shelter spots. But I doubt it's a flow issue, I have 2 MJ12's and 2 Hagen 301's (on a wavemaker mind you) on a 40g/24x24x12 tank and it's not really enough flow for what's in there...
