Default combating low ph

Everyone who runs a calcium reactor, how do you combat low system ph.I don't want to add kalk every night manually which i have done the last 3 days or automatically.

What is the pH? Personally, I do nothing, don't even measure it.

find out what your hardness is and use the reef calculator for addition of carbonate. By default it will start raising your pH. I am also assume your hardness is down too

One thing you can try is having your reactor output aim at the skimmer input. Once it's gone through the skimmer, the CO2 will all dissapate. At my peak, I used to run my reactor with 2 bubbles per second, without any apparent troubles in the tank.

Are you finding that this pH is affecting livestock?

Are you using an ATO? I add kalk using my osmolator via a converted phosban reactor.

Hey Blaster sorry to hear about your Low PH, what I have was i had the same problem, SO Bev on here told me abouit getting fresh air to tank. SO i ran a air line from the out side to the skimmer to suck in fresh air. My PH was at 7.9 too and then once that line was ran it went up to 8.1 so it worked for me. and my 120 gal has 2 windows in the same room too along with a ceiling fan. so i dont get that problem any more.

on a second note may be you should invest in a Kalk reactor to keep your PH up if the window job doesnt do the trick.

or is you dont want a reactor make up a 4 gal jug of kalk and drip it with a TEE to the ATO and that should help you out for a few days or longer depending on your evaporation demands...........
