Default High Ph HELP

My digital PH is reading 8.6? is this bad? what can I do to lower it? what would cause this. its a relativly new tank.

It's a bit high.
Are you adding anything like Kalkwater?
Need more info how new what about the rest of your parameters?
What salt could be that if you just set it up?

ya it is a little high, aim for 8-8.4, have you been dosing any kalkwasser or baking soda? or no supplements so far? kalkwasser has a pH in excess of 11and can skyrocket you're pH, most salts however should level you're pH at about 8.2. could it be the actual refractometer, whens the last time it was calibrated?
