Default reef temperature

what is the average temperature for a reef tank? what is the highest acceptable temperature that will not bleach my corals or kill anything and everything can still live comfortably?

Well where I have been diving the water has been 84 F but look at the size of the ocean. Lots of people keep their tanks at 77-78 wellI know I do less evaporation. I have found out too the humidity is more with a warmer tank. With my fish the temp is 77-78 and they seem very content in there and more active too.

I normally keep the temp between 80-82 but I've had my tanks up to 86 with no problems, I turn the lights out when it reaches that temp because I don't want to find out what happens when it gets warmer .

When your tank consistently hits 85-86 is when you're in for a chiller. I keep my tank around 77-79, but I found it faired exactly the same when I kept it at 81-82.
