Great tank - my display is the same size. I would cut out that one wall so the tank is viewable from 2 sides! Show off that depth.

How did you decide on the clear silicone?

Appears you have a room behind, why the space above the tank in the front?
I will be installing doors in the open space in order to do maintenance, coral placement etc. from the front, just makes it easier is all.

Thanks, yes I really thought of the two sided opening but my framing and drywall skills are let's say somewhat lacking lol. I really like the clean look of the clear silicone with the polished glass edges. But thanks for the compliments and finishing the plumbing tonight, will fill and test the tank over the weekend.

The new tank is up and running for two months now, but boy am I having a hard time with green algae, not hair algae but just the green films, started about two weks ago. I did a 50 gallon change on Sunday, but no difference. I am running 2 of 3 250 watt halides for less than 6 hours a day, and 32 watt T5's aqua sylvania's. The lights are about 10 inches above the water. The feeding is relativly low, but just can't beat the glass algae problem.

I am wondering if my Aqua safe RO/DI which is new is just not pulling the weight I was hoping for, but mind you I have not bought a TDS meter yet.
I have about 15 turbo snails , and other inhabitants so far are a smaller Naso Tang, pair of tomoatoe clowns, and a hawk fish, I havn't hooked up the UV Sterilizer yet, but any suggestions sure would be appreciated. I am running a Deltec reactor with fresh carbon?
Tests are
PO4 <5
Ammonia- Trace or less depending on the day
Nitrate <5

Buy some GFO put it in a filter sock or a reactor it should help a bit. Buy That TDS meter! Test your new water for phosphates before you put it in your tank as well.

Would'nt sweat the algae to much. Probably just the new tank algae blues. Looks good so far. Could you post some pics or details about your sump?
