Anyway, I wish I had the means & time to keep them & I really envy you that you do! Make sure you post some pics when you get your tank up & running! It'd be fascinating to see them. .

You pretty much need a custom tank for these guys that is at the very least 4' wide and hopefully at least 8' long! Ideally bigger though. There are much better, smaller species of sharks to keep in a home aquarium that "only" need a 300-400G tank.
Banded Sharks grow to about a foot within the first year and will be way too big for a 120G, so you really should start with a bigger tank...maybe a 180G or even better a 220G and then upgrade from there. A 120G will not last more than 6 months. You also have to remember that sharks do not tolerate nitrates and are very, very difficult to treat for ich, so having all these other fish in with it, is a big mistake. I doubt you will be able to keep the nitrates down, especially in such a small tank. You should really be thinking about a pond. Maybe 12'x12'? Good luck!

Also...
I remember reading somewhere about electric pulses from internal pumps/power heads etc. interfering with their senses. Something about sharks using electrical pulses to sense their surroundings. What I read could be BS, but if you're serious about sharks then it's something else to do more research on. .

One of my absolute favorite sharks is the White Spotted Bamboo. It only gets about 3' max and more likely about 2.5', so way more managable. Better looking too in my opinion. You could keep one or two in a 400G. Might be a thought.

My thought is that if you are getting a 120, ask everyone what they would do with a 120.
There are very exeprienced people on here who will give you ideas on how to set up one of the nicest looking tanks you have seen, especially if you have the cash to look at upgrading to a bigger tank later on - keep the same tank and put it all into making it look good.

like many have said don't do it my freind had one for um about 2 months then the facination wore off not only do you need a big tank later on they grow quick also they don't do much except for hide and come out when it's dark I would sooner put fish in the 120 and if you really want a cat shark put a rubber one under a rock cause that's basically the extent of what they do. btw not trying to be an *** or anything just telling the truth!

thanks again everyone for all your input i hope you have more for me, you can always learn more.
about my 120 do you have suggestions then about making a nice setup. also i think you guys are rite about the shark they dont really move about that much, but maybe ill get a separate tank for it in the future.
