Default LF: 75-250 watt Halide x 2 Retrofit or just ballast...

Just looking for some cheap, even old maybe halides to get the shimmer back in my tank. I changed to T5's and miss the glistening soooo much! I prefer 75watt because of power use. Open to anything though really. Let me know what you have!

I was also thinking of just using cheaper non aquarium halides but wanted advice on that...I know the bulbs are usually wrong and the reflectors suck but can it be done. Can the bulbs be switched out? Remember, this is just for show and nothing else. Any advice???

Not sure what you have in your tank but the cheaper MH bulbs at lower Kelvin might start a real nice algae bloom.

This is also not something that will be run more than a few hours a day. Just from like 6-9 when I am usually around the tank. Its purely for the look and nothing else.

Even just an older ballast your not in need of anymore...Up to 250 watts would be considered. Thanks!
