Question denitrator

i just built my self a coil denitrator, and since it uses the same size tubing as my calcium reactor i have the calcium reactor output conected to the input of the coil denitrator.(also reduces need for an extra pump)
does any one see any problems with this? or should i reverse the order(denitrator ouput to reactor input)? the ouput of these two then goes into my skimmer.
my rational is that the denitrator uses oxygen free water, so why not use the output of the reactor, possible problem is that it is co2 rich.
ive also read that some people have the reactor second because the effluent from the denitratior has low ph so people run it through the reactor for buffer, but these are based on sulphur based denitrators.
appreciate any suggestions thanks.

I don't really see any problem with hooking the two inline, except for the fact that you lose the ability to adjust the flowrates of each independently, which may or may not be a headache - I'm not sure. Typically, as time goes on, calcium demand tends to grow, which may dictate an increase in flow in the calcium reactor, potentially overwhelming the denitrator. So it may not work forever, but there's no reason no to try it in the meantime.

thanks for the input i'll just give it a go for now. i've always had my reactor output at a fast drip but not a tricke, and with the denitrator perfered setting at 3 drips a second seems to be pretty much the same for now. if later down the road it needs changing then i'll deal with it then . thanks

Hey, what design or website, etc. did you use for your build? And how difficult was it?

i used this plan
http://2hot2cool.com/4/afishianado/afishian.htm

and this is the same thing except the coils are on the outside.
http://www.aquariumpros.ca/forums/sh...ad.php?t=18394

project costed me about $40-$50 and a few hours time. wasn't too difficult, most difficult part was to get the coil wound up in the inside.
