Default new MH bulbs, acclimatize tank?

Got couple of new 250W 14K Hamiliton MHs. First is replacement for one that burnt out after 6 months, second to replace other bulb that's been in service for a year. Both same wattage and spectrum.

Read that should acclimatize, either by reduced photo-period or screening, as could shock inhabitants because of intensity of new bulbs.

Real world check, wondering if anyone actually does this?

Default light

i only acclimatize if its a higher change in wattage or lower change in Kelvin. otherwise, i tell the corals to buck up and take the pain.
