Titus, as I'm having a lot of trouble with Ca and alk, I'm going to try and compilate all the info I'm researching and write up a small article on dosing kalk. I have followed the general advice of many people and wound up with more problems than I need:-). There is a lot of info out there on dosing kalk and most of it applies to fully mature tanks. For those of us just starting our reefs, this info doesn't neccesarily apply. If/when I get it written, I'll submit it for posting.
