Default Radium 20k's to borrow

Anybody have any Radium 20k 250w SE's, either used and in storage as backups or wouldnt miss for a couple days?

My XM's are coming to the end of their life, wanted to test a bulb for colour with my ballasts before i spend the money on new bulbs

Im running XM 10k's now, and im quite happy with the white, just curious what the radiums would look like on my ballast. I've heard a few people say the radiums look like 10k's with just a hint of blue when overdriven on pfo hqi ballasts.

Thanks anyway Rory

If i do ill let you know Ryan

If you do go with radiums, lemme know how they compare.

You are using single end bulbs on an HQI ballast then?

you have heard about people running 400 watt radiums. one thing with 250 watt radium bulbs.. they need a pulse start or HQI ballast and will not run on a probe start ballast and they are quite blue.

Hey Steve

I have pfo HQI ballasts. quite a few people have posted, not this forum, that overdriven radiums turn alot whiter, almost a 12k or 13k. I wanted a little more blue, bring out more color in my corals, just dont want to take a dive with par, but i might not have a choice.

ah well, time for VHO actinics

when I was running the 250 radium in my tank on HQI I had to shut off the VHO it was so blue.. and I have a 400 radium running on a normal ballast in my garage right now and it isn't 1/2 as blue as the 250 one was.. but I imagin as for eveything else each bulb will vary a bit.
