Default Dry Out Starfish??

is it possible to dry out a chocolate chip star???? he was in another tank and my mom just loved him and he died on us so is it possible to dry his out and keep???

Yes you can. After it is dried out, paint it with some laquer so it doesnt smell and it preserves them.
As a kid growing up with the ocean as our front yard, we would go to the beach and find large star fish. We would then boil them and they would change to a bright orange. after a few days of drying out, we would paint them with a clear coat laquer to preserve them.

do i have to boil it??? or do i just put him on a board in the celler?

Not sure about the CC starfish but it might change color if you boil it.
Just put it on a board in a warm area to dry for a few days.

Soak in Borax and water and put it some place hot where it will dry out fast so it does not rot.
