Default Cheep bulbs at superstore

Ok I was looking around at super store and they have a 48" ultr daylight tub for 4.88 each .. the likker is it has 800 more initial lumin than the chroma 50, and holds more over the life of the bulb..
the initial lumin is 3000 with a kelvin rating of 6500K.

they also had a 13watt PC with internal ballast (screws into a regular light socket)for 14.99 that was 6500K temp also (perfect for sumps or nano's)

Canadian Tire has the GE Daylight Ultra 48" lamps for $4.50 (+/- $.50) as well. It has an initial Lumens rating of 3050, a 6500K temp rating, and a CRI of 95.

They are the lamps I use in place of the URI Aquasuns when I don't have the cash right away to replace an Aquasun. Also for you NO overdrivers they would be an excellent choice for a daylight lamp I would think.

You can also get those at home depot for about 6 bucks a pair (they come in two packs). Thats the cheapest I've seen them.

Philips has another bulb called the colortone 75 (7500 k/95CRI)product #33464-9. has anyone else seen this? I am going to start asking around about it as it would be a awsome bulb to overdrive.. people in toronto have said they are paying about 6.00 for it.

I found the colour tone 75 at brite-lite.com, they have an outlet here in Calgary. They quoted me 9.00 to 9.50 per 48" T12 bulb, but I would have to order a case (30?) of them. This would be a great bulb to over drive.

This is the place that I buy my end caps, cords, timers, and E-ballasts for a few dollars cheaper than Home Depot.

In looking around for inexpensive lighting I have found the lumens decrease with the higher CRI bulbs. So there is some trade off between intensity and colour.

The GE Ultra Daylights (blue & white packaging) that I bought at Canadian Tire have a initial lumen of 3050 and CRI 75. GE also sells a Sunshine Bulb 48" T12, 6500K, Lumen about 2750 with a CRI 95, available at Canadian Tire.

The Philiphs Daylight 6500K from HD were about 2850 lumen and CRI 84.
