Hey Gary...
Is the dis-coloration around the head area or along the lateraline? Tangs are very prone to this problem and it can be caused my not enough vitamin C in the diet. I had a Regal with a similar problem and cured it ( although it too forever) with liquid Vitamin C and Kent marine Zeocon. I agree with the above suggestions that they must have LOTS and Lots of veggies in their diet. I have a Kole , Regal and a small Yellow in my main reef and they get Nori and Formula II soaked in Garlic every day. Just my 10 cents worth ... Cheers

Never tried garlic, however as far as food additives go I highly recommend Selcon. Selcon contains vitamin C as well as essential fatty acids for marine fish. I like to soak frozen food in it every other day. It does wonders for the fish
 .Just my 2c.
