![]() I have a question. I had a 30 gallon reef tank up and running for about 10 months 2 clowns, 2 yellowtail blue damsels, 3 green chromis, some softies, couple lps and some sps. In swithing over to my new 114 gallon I took the contents of the 30 and switched them to the 114,water, livestock and liverock and a brand new decorative sand bed. I have all my fish and coral in the tank would adding another fish like a small yellow tang be too soon? The switch was made a week ago. I was told it was by the LFS and before I buy the fish I want to be sure... not sorry that I did.

![]() Russ,
I'd let the new sandbed seed with bacteria for a few weeks to be on the safe side. BTW, did you add new LR along with the rock from your 20gt o your bigger tank? |

![]() Whoa slow down there bud. You just moved the contents in a little less than 5 days ago? Slow it down and make sure your existing livestock is alright before adding more.

![]() The extra LR I added was in a holding tank for the last 6 months, it was a pod factory

![]() Making sure the tank is cycled is the key. Tangs are ick factories so adding to the stress of moving it, ie. amonia spike, would be a bad idea for the other fish.

![]() IMO leave things as they are for a couple weeks at the very least. Monitor the water quality and let things settle in. BTW we need pics of the new tank ![]() |
