I have a green bubble coral in my tank that now has some brown colour to it. When I first bought it, it was a 'pure' colour. Now it looks like it has mildew inside it.

It is currently located at the top of my tank, directly under 2X96W ( 10K and 50/50). Does anybody have any ideas what might be happening? It has slowly developed, and the 'mildew' seems to be spreading. I got a feeling it might be getting too much light, as the portion that is not directly under the tubes seem to be 'cleaner'. Here's an earlier pic.... It's worse now. ![]() 4pts.... |

I've got the same one. I find that if I don't feed it, then it gets a little brown. Are you feeding it anything? I try and feed it mysis 2-3 a week. Watch out, they eat and ton and grow very fast.

I have been feeding it occasionally.

I get some blood worm floaters, or mysis floaters on occasion. Other times, I give it a piece of scallop or shrimp. Maybe twice a month? Should I feed it more? Is it possible to overfeed? ie will it reject food if it is full? |

That might be an issue. I have a PH blowing across the top of the back. There is flow, but not enough to wave it around too much.

Originally this coral was under a 96W 10k and a 96W actinics. I have change the lights out a few months ago and now it sits undet a 96W 10k and a 96W 50/50. Could it be that it needs more blue? Should I put the actinic back in? |
