Default Lighting Timer

Greetings,

I have a Coralife 48" hood (the one with the moonlights). I was curious what sort of timer I should be looking for if I want to run a dawn/day/dusk/night automatic cycle?

Thanks!

I use the standard grounded heavy duty timers from Canadian Tire. They are called Intermatic Heavy Duty

Chad,

Have the same hood. I bought my timers at Ikea of all places. They sell a three prong timer (ie with ground) for only $5. Whereas Canadian would sell the same for $13.

It is a little bulkier but I works fine.

Yikes! Thanks Peter!

I just bought them at Home Depot for 13 a piece! I will return them tomorrow and head over to IKEA!

Thanks a lot for letting me know. Saved me $30 for some other goodies.

you can get nice intermatic digital ones from superstore for 20 bucks a piece or a few times a year the garrison digital ones go on sale at candian tire for 12 bucks. the analog timers suck because if you unplug them or loose power you have to reset the time on them and they aren’t very accurate.

I'd be careful with the Ikea ones as well. A co-worker bought them for his tank in the office, and only 1 of the 3 that he bought worked correctly. Granted, that's still cheaper, but, be prepared to have to return a few, (unless my co-worker is just extremely unlucky, which, if you knew him, you would guess that as well ). Good luck with it anyway.
