Default more pc light questions.

ok so it looks like i have a bad actinic bulb. i have space in my hood for 4 96watt 3 foot bulbs. i have in the past run 2 10k and 2 actinic's. i got to wondering would it maybe be better to run 3 10k's and 1 actinic? actinics's don't put out much usable light do they? they are more appearance are they not? i could really use some more light until i get a mh rig setup. would running that many 10k's look ok with only 1 actinic look funny?

opinions please since it looks like i have to go get a new bulb this week.

That would probably be fine. I don't think it would look funny.

depending on how you place the actinic if might or might not look funny. If it were me I would run all your PC's in 10K and then add a couple VHO or NO actinics that are 4 foot long if you can fit them in there.

hrm.. it's pretty tight up there but i might be able to squeeze a t5 in the middle somewhere. seriously, if someone ever said to me now yeah pc bulbs are the way to go id smack em in the mouth. i have had so many issues with my setup over the years im ready to dump them. 4 10k's would be better

I would do the T5 actinic in a HO tube, run the pc's 10K.
Paul's has 4 ft T'5's for $36 bulb and ballast-sweet tiny units!

But Paul's T5 don't come in true actinic, only 6400k & 20000k. That brand of T5s now come in 6400k HO, but again no actinic.

Unfortunately, King Ed's is one of the few LFS that carry T5 actinic (Helios) but those are NO not HO.

Check with Jack if he can order in a T5 HO actinic fixture with bulb.
