Overflows
I've always had drilled tanks and have never used these external overflows. Do they work good and how problamatic are they? I picked up a 75G tank and looking to turn it in to a fuge and turning my present fuge which is 35G in to a frag tank. I'm looking at a CPR C-Siphon 300GPH one. Will it be sufficient or should I go bigger?

If you got time to source one the best overflow on the market is the LifeReef models. I have had good experience with the Eshopps brand overflows as well. I'm not a fan of the CPR overflows. They are designed to use the aqualifter pump to maintain prime which to me is a stopgap measure to fix a poorly designed overflow.
300gph should be plenty for a refugium. Are you going to gravity drain the refugium tank back to the sump? |

Yup. Gravity feed to sump is the plan.

Well it was being stored at my place for a buddy. Well hes decided to sell it to me so i might as well put it online with my system. It's up a running and I really don't want to take it down to take to the glass shop. When I've taken tanks there before I can't pick up for a few days. I also don't know if it can be drilled and being lazy is another contributing factor.

Yeah if it's online it's a bit of a pita if its just water it's not bad. Drilling a tank is a piece of cake honestly once you get past the nerves.

I have used CPR and lifereef overflows. Both worked great but I would recommend the aqua lifter pump with the CPR.

I've got an Eshoppe and a Lifereef running and haven't had an issue.

Thanks everyone. I was on J&L's site and the CPR overflow is what I see they carry. It does come with a pump for $110. I would rather drill as all my other tanks are drilled but not an option in this case.
