Default Where are you getting salt?

I've been looking around locally for inexpensive IO or Kent salt. Seems like those 90g IO pails are available at outrageous prices

Where are folks getting their salt and how much are you paying for it?

If I can't find someplace locally, I'm thinking of doing a mega order, like 10 pails, from J&L and would be looking for others to order some too. Both Kent and IO from J&L are $49.99 plus shipping.

Have ordered 20 pails from them a few years back and they ship on a pallet using some trucking company with a base in Edmonton. Would need someone with a truck or van to pick it up, though, since we no longer have our van.

Anyone??

I dont think you'll find a better price than that, if you could put together a group order though I bet you could work something out. J&L prices are hard to beat. My favorite store doesn't do mail order but I doubt they'd be any cheaper than that price. Kent is now owned by Oceanic, the salt may be different in the near future. I think it's still made by IO at this point though.

I have seen the Oceanic jugs showing up at 35.00 for the 90gallon mix.Don't know if that is a deal, but it is better than what I pay for the 55Gal mix of IO.(Price per gallon wise)

Tony,

$35 for 90g is NOT a deal Want in on some 200g pails of Kent or IO from J&L? How many do you want? We're looking at 9-10 pails for ourselves.

Maybe we can find a way to get us Calgarians in. I could use a pail of IO.

Well, I have a full 200G pail right now, but heck, who doesn't need more salt? I'd be in for 1 pail.
