Default Snail Question???

So As of the past few weeks a big majority of my snails in my tank dont seem to stay upright.
So I flip them all back over again and put some back on the rock work.

Well a few hours later they are all cringed up?? and either lying upside down on the sand bed or right side up on the rock work but their oval shaped foot is all cinched together.

Sorry I can't explaine it any better than that but does anyone have any ideas? Please?

Default Snail Question???

Hey Jon, hope you don't mind, I'm going to move this over the main reef forum.

The only thing I can think of, is this. Are they turbo snails by any chance? If so, they tend to need a lot to eat otherwise they can actually starve is there isn't enough fuzz algae or whatever it is that they eat. I think (I could be wrong on this), EmilyB once actually fed her Turbos some nori because of this? (I shouldn't put words in EmilyB's mouth, so EmB, if you're out there, can you comment please before I go put my foot in my mouth or go too far adrift? Thanks!)

Default Snail Question???

My turbos still find the nori clip overnight, but I think Jon told me his were all astreas.

Dinoflagellates can cause big problems for snails - might this be a possibility ?
