Default Modify hob skimmer to self drain ?

Has anyone tried this before ? I don't like to take the skimmer cup out all the time and want it to self drain it is a Remora c, I know the pro model self drains and thought it may be possible to set something up, I have used a siphon the last couple of times.

A hole on the bottom of the cup with an airline or larger tube down to a jar or something. Should be easy enough

Keep in mind that the more gunk built up on the walls of the cup inhibit the bubbles from travelling up it and result in less efficient skimming.
