Default Phosphate question

I am having some algae problems. I got my water tested at a water treatment plant. It tested 1.2mg/L of phosphate. Is this considered as high. I am fairly new to the saltwater side of things.

Welcome to the money pit
That's not a super hi reading. If you want success battling algae, having a 0.0 or lower reading ( whether it's ppm or mg/L ) of PO4 is ideal.
The same holds for NO3.
