What the heck is this?

I found this sliding across a rock last night.





It is about 1.5cm long. Any idea what it is? Is it safe in my reef?

It's a chiton. You'll be fine.

It look like some kind of chiton and it should be just fine in your reef.

I concur. I have two of them and they are very interesting creatures.
