I know they use to be Big Al's and have changed their name to Island Pets. But do they still have alot of freshwater fish like Big Al's use to??

That is not good to hear, I am just looking for a couple of freshwater bettas so nothing really to special. They carry different types compared to the ones we get here just the regular veiltails. I did get a response that they have alot of bettas to choose from that are different so that is good and I hope they do when I get there.

To get more info and other opinions on Island Pets, try the BC Aquaria website. Many people like them, some don't and I noticed that only 1 person has responded with their opinion so you might get a better feel for how they are from http://www.bcaquaria.com/forum/.

How about Pets Beautiful in Vancouver? I have ordered fish from April before, and her fish are always healthy and very well priced. I haven't seen the store in person though, and I'm not sure what she carries for Bettas, but well worth the email imo.
