This store has been there for a while, not a bad in pricing, except their frags were a little out to lunch, or so I think... I also found them very arrogant.

I've had to remove a GBTA from a rock once that never did let go. I tried hanging it upside down, massaging the base, pointing a powerhead at it, prying at the base with a credit card, leaving it un-submerged and even rubbing it with ice cubes. In the end I had to smash the rock and remove it with the fragments still attached to its foot. Anyone keeping anemones in a tank for sale should know to only have small rock rubble with them or should be prepared to grab a hammer and a chisel.

BUT remember... this guy is VERY "EXPERIENCED" (in selling his customers huge chunks of rocks at $11/pound). He says he does not, and I quote.."rape his customers" but he sure tried to bend me over.

I think "the bald guys" prices are low because he has no service skills at all. Something has to draw people in.

I am gonna name drop.... his name is Shawn. I don't care. He was really insulting. Insinuating I do not treat my tanks well. In most cases I would have lost my temper.... but instead.... I have CANREEF to vent!!!

Thanks guys and gals for reading.

There is a saying.....

"You get good service you tell one person. You get bad service, you tell everyone."

I kind of wish nobody posted the store name.... it is free advertising for him in any way.

I wonder... does anyone care enough to read signatures if you make them really small? I would not. I would probably moan and complain, read three words and swear once or twice. But since you made it this far, please rate my builds.

I went to that store not too long ago. Never really had any encounters with that bald guy everyone hates. Asked a couple questions when I was there to see if the stafdf had any knowledge. Not impressed but not displeased either. Did not like the selection when I was there and prices on livestock arent too bad but anything else is pretty much the same. All in all I drove to calgary for fish shopping and I wont go back to the store in sherwood park. It is the only one in sherwood park I know of that has saltwater. And yes I agree that people in this hobby NEED to hear to bad with the good too or this **** will happen all the time to other people.

Yep. I had the pleasure of dealing with this guy. Manager. Didn't know much, but try to impress me. Fish prices are low but you better know your stuff, or you will get misinformed. Same thing... I have this experience in how many years. But when I asked him pointed questions, he knew nada.
Good price on those "rose" anemonies, though.
Stocks are never plentiful, and what he thinks are "rare", are not.

I am just glad its not just my experience. This guy acted like such a clown I was ready to lose my mind.

As soon as somebody says "I've been doing this for _ years" you know they don't know sh*t. This is true for any industry and deal with clients and customers like this all the time.

You should have asked him how they capture anemones in the wild, last time I checked the rocks these are found on are too heavy to lift and turn upside down. Also an anemone that can't support it's own weight isn't a healthy one and a bad idea for a reef tank. Idiot!
