Like I said if it's still it doesn't matter. If the water is stagnant what will move the coral?

The one thing I liked about that lens was how small the aperture gets. Remember this one? Check the specs, you might be surprised.

i take all my photos at f4-8 and usually by f8 i have pictures which are sharp from corner to corner so imo theres really no need for f14-22 in our application when it comes to taking tank shots. Shooting at a wider aperture this will give you alot faster shutter speed.

Yeah it would be which is why I suggested starting with F/16, that shot above was at F/57!

Better? Personally I think I like the first frogspawn shot better but I see what you're saying and I got the iso down so I think I'm getting it figured. Except my camera doesn't have the exposure scale in AP priority? Which is annoying b/c all the photos looked fine on the camera lcd but were a little over exposed on the computer so it'd be nice to adjust the exposure just below zero but it'd be nice to see the scale when doing so

Yes much better, considerably better when you consider that you're closer than the original, it's still a little softer than I would expect though. Are you auto-focusing or manual? Also are you using a remote or timer to trigger the camera?

You could try manual focus and focus on your center DOF which will give the biggest range. I suspect the tank glass is the bigger issue though, I've seen those 10 gallons bow pretty good which could be causing the softer edges.
