| sump question I am considering building a new sump for my 90 gallon. I would like to add a refugium. Also baffles for a bubble trap. I notice many sumps with refugiums dont use a filter sock. Is it necessary to have a filter sock. Or is it better or worse? Any ideas would be great. I will also be using an in sump skimmer |

| I personally don't use a sock in my refugium. I use to, when first setting things up, but now that things are established I threw them out. When using them, I just placed them underneath the plumbing for the overflows.

| I notice that my sump bottom gets very dirty even with the sock, im not sure if its the water coming from the herbie overflow. The other concern i have is, will the skimmer be over worked, coz the sock is not being used. |
