Default Ok....so I've captured the mantis shrimp - I think!

Isolated and removed the live rock that housed my mantis shrimp (very cool but kind of a jerk too). I placed the rock into the sump temporarily and plan on moving it into a small aquarium and keep it there. Question: this guy is extemely elusive so not sure if he is even in the rock. Is there a way that I can flush him of the rock and into a smaller tank? Have heard that basting the rock with tap water or club soda may do it. Should I hold the rock while doing that (heavy and awkward tp hold) or just place it a bucket and baste it there?

Thx

Turkey baster and a little club soda, works like a charm. He'll come out, trust me. HTH

Turkey baster and water works too. Just hold over a bucket and skirt him he will come right out.
