![]() I'm curious to see if my setup is inadequate. Mine's a 27gal (18" high) with a single 175w MH using a cheapo ballast I got from a hydroponics store...which seems to work quite well. I'm wondering if I should change the bulb to something else. What kind of setup are you guys using?
Mine... 27gal 30L x 12W x 18H 175w MH No name 175w MH ballast Coralife 10000k bulb No supplemental actinics |

![]() Hey Mason,
I use a single 400 watt Iwasaki with two NO flourecent actinics. Although the picture I posted on the board is taken with one 18000k and one actinic NO's. I have the parts to add two more NO actinics and I am not sure if I am going to do so because I am thinking of going to the 10000k bulb like you. I think I am looking to keep mostly softies and maybe a select few of some LPS/SPS, and also a clam. I do not have any true hands-on experience with many corals so I do not have a credible opinion. My tank is very new and I only have some pulsing xenia. I don't think I helped but I try and contribute |

![]() Hi Mason, I don't think there is anything you can't keep with your lighting on that size of tank.
