Default Putting lights on pulleys under a canopy

We are going to build the canopy for our tank shortly. Right now the 6' unit is sitting on blocks of 2x4s until it is done. One 2x4 is on it side and the other is upright. I have sustained some pretty nasty burns on my hands or wrists when I have stuff to do within the tank. I don't mean to touch the halide but sometimes it does happen.

I would like the lighting unit to be on a pulley system so I can pull them up and out of the way. Is this possible and has someone done this before? What would I need to but to do such a thing?

do a search for "pulley", there's been a few different builds.
