these are what bigals sell
http://www.marineland.com/sites/Mari...=3600&mid=3228

the biggest problem for me is the 27" depth, the 48x36" size is ok but has dual overflows and that can be a pain,
also if you put the overflow in the back corner good luck ever cleaning or catching fish from in thier with a 48x48 tank, unfortunately you would have to put it on one of the ends probably back left.
my tank is 48x24x28" and the 28" tall really gets to me everytime i drop something or need to pick up a frag also my overflow is in the back middle and i have to get on a ladder and hang way over the tank to get in that overflow so ill be shure not to do that ever again if i dont have to.
i would build a nice custom and maybe get a nice stand built but your probably gonna be $1200-1500 just on a stand and tank, by the time you have this done i might have mine started so ill have that other 8bulb tek light you need.

Hey! that's great Greg. There are a couple larger cube builds on RC (as I'm sure you know) that might be able to help you figure stuff out. One guy has a 4x4x2 cube (I think that's what it is anyways) and it's a great build thread.

Looking forward to whatever it is you decide...if the 90 is any indication, the cube will be killer

IMO go for a 6x4x2. that would give you great depth for coral placement,
and you would have lots of swimming room too.

hmm, you know I need to bust out the tape measure and the masking tape to see how that may look. If I move the positioning to another wall I might be able to get away with 6x4x2. and there is an electrical outlet right behind that spot.

I would never buy another used tank in my life. Did that once, didn't pan out so well so my lesson was learned.

My wife likes the tanks, but at times its more a case of her tolerating them.

However, a couple years ago, I mentioned to her that I had noticed another motorcycle I was interested in for sale and she told me to just go buy it. After I crashed that one into a deer last year and wrote it off reducing my fleet back to a single bike (and incuring a few injuries to me), she was all in favour of me ordering a brand new bigger, better and much more expensive replacement. Of course it helps that she also has two bikes.

When you got a gem, hang on to her.

That's the lesson I'm currently learning.... it would have been cheaper for me to get a starter tank than change everything I'm doing now like I am!

I couldn't agree with you more on this one.
In my case, I have the super husband that puts up with my MANY pets.... mostly reptiles.

LOL, Too Cool.

My Superviser here at work wants to travel, and thinking about selling his 225g tank. I told him I'd take it, and told the wife we need to start saving $$$ for a tank. She says how much and what tank,. I tell her the price and it's a complete 225g she goes OMFG, I HAVE to HAVE that tank. And she hasn't even seen it LOL. I'm creating a monster I think
