I apologise for not being to offer any advice on your skimmer but just want to say that I do like your rockwork on the right of your tank

On my euro reef you turn the pvc left or right to control flow or bypass....which controls the overflowing of bubbles and water you have there......does yours do that and if so can you turn it clockwise when looking down from the top?

The water level seems pretty high in your sump, there should be a recommended water level for that skimmer. For a Euroreef it's 6-8".

Your water level is way to high, On my euroreef it only works well when in less than 6" of water. Easy solution would to be to build a simple egg crate stand for it to sit on.

With the water level in the return section that low, your return pump must also be sucking air and contributing to the problem. As above, I've raised my skimmer on a makeshift egg-crate platform so water level is <8"... it seems to work OK. I'd raise it a bit higher, but there's no ceiling room!

BTW, and slightly off-topic... I see the riser tube spouting water on several skimmer pics lately. Is that considered "normal" or "OK"?

My G3 is in 10.5" of water and yours if higher might slow down the flow fr the skimmer drain. Also yes, looks like water way low for your return pump so probably drawing air.

It is a bit high....Ive had my ASM and ER working in 12 inch's of water but even that is high. Looks like you might be drawing to much air. Try pinching the air line a little (or a lot....lol) and see if that helps. Adjusting the riser tube so the water level is about at the top of the skimmer neck may help. Its hard to tell where the water level is in your pics.

In agreement with everyone else: water level in skimmer chamber way too high; water level in return chamber way too low.

Yes, I also agree. However, wouldn't the low return chamber water level simply be the result of not enough water in the system? I think he needs to add more SW. (and raise that skimmer....you can see a massive amount of free airbubbles in the skimmer chamber of the sump)
