What kind of FW eel would be good in a 50g tank?

I'm afraid I don't know what you mean by "FW" eel. To me, FW means fresh water...That might be why you aren't getting an answer yet.

I was thinking the same thing with this in the reef catagory - There are no good fresh water reef eels.
