![]() I just rescued two fish, a chevron, that died, and a Mata Tang. The previous owner thought the Mata tang was a tomini, it isn't. Since I know little on the Mata tang I was wondering if anyone knew of a site that could give me info on the Mata Tang, so that I can decide what to do with him.

Apparently reaches about 19.7 inches in length. What type of aquarium were you planning on housing this beautiful beast in? I'd think something like 280-300G might be a minimum. It also says they feed exclusively on zooplankton. I wonder what that means in terms of keeping them in captivity. ![]() |

![]() wasn't planning on keeping him, I just wanted to get him out of that tank. It was a disgusting tank, overstalked, never cleaned, never anything.
I will probably trade sell it, with the funds going towards a 250watt halide. Super7 |

![]() They are nice looking fish when healthy, but not spectacularly coloured. I bought mine last time as a baby for $20. It grew an inch a month & in less than a year, it was approaching a foot long in a 100g 4' tank. I then set up a 6'6" fowlr 160g fowlr for it but it got sick & died during the transition period.
Here's an old pic of mine: ![]() Anthony
