![]() I got a new laser printer/scanner/fax. It can hook up either with the old fashioned type of printer cable, or with a USB cable. I have the old fashioned cable already.
Will a USB connection give me faster print times or should I just stick with the old cable? I don't want to buy a new cable unless there is a good reason.

![]() The USB cables are much faster than the old printer cables, especially for scanning. Check ebay, they are usually no more than a few dollars.

![]() I cant even remember what the old printer cable looks like, Its kinda wierd that your printer didnt come with a USB cable. Mine came with a firewire cable isnt that crazy.

![]() OK thanks.
I spent 5 hours yesterday installing the printer. Windows XP for you.

![]() Another nice thing about USB is Windows will often set it up automatically as a plug and play device.
