Question: Is this normal

well ron, i dont personally have experience using ozone but i'm pretty sure if you are using it, it should read between 300 - 400. hope that helps

I aim for an ORP of at least 400. Dosing about 25-30mg/ml (I know its low) in a 90 gallon tank. Apparently you can go as high as 450 or so.

Did a little reading: ORP reading one should stay between 300 and 350mV
This is recommened as the desirable level
Values higher then 430mV can be dangerous
Values below 200mV indicate an accumulation of organic wastes and low oxygen level

Really? What was your source? Things I've read say to keep it at 400+. Hmm, maybe I should read more. Right now I've been aiming for about 400 but hovering around 370 or so. Perhaps I should just keep it where it is

I run a 200mg ozone red sea and i have mine at 75 mg going through my dual beckett. also I haev fresh ait sucking in to mix with it. and also have my ozone going on at 5am- noon then it shuts off. i have a 120 gal with a 75 gal sump thou......

No no not at all. I was just interested in reading the article you had gotten the information from. I'm still figuring this ozone thing out myself. There really isn't much out there on ozone (any "formal" online publications anyway, most are just posts on various bulletin boards). The only info I really have is Randy Holmes-Farleys series on ozone:

ORP and the Reef Aquarium
Ozone and the Reef Aquarium Part I
Ozone and the Reef Aquarium Part II: Equipment and Safety Ozone and the Reef Aquarium Part III: Changes in a Reef Aquarium Upon Initiating Ozone

In the first part of his series he mentions that most people run it at 300-450. Then in the second part he says 350 is good, 400 is ok but never above 450. As well some people I've talked to say they aim for 400-450. I never got a manual with my ozonizer but thank goodness Harvey (Mr Alberta) was very patient with me when I bought it from him
