![]() are these the same t5's on the tank at the back of the store? im gonna need 2 4' lights for the 8' tank i ordered and is this a good choice? the tank is 30" wide and if the light is only14" wide is it gonna be nice and bright? or should i look into another light.

![]() Nope, the ones at the back are 4 x 4' retro kits. These units are quite a bit nicer. At 8', you would probably be fine with a 6' unit. You'd have 12" of dark space on the sides, but trust me, it wouldn't be any worse than having 8' of PC lighting.
As far as the width goes, it really depends on how much of the tank you really need to light. If you're concentrating the coral in the back or middle, this light will be plenty bright. If you're trying to light... Oh, I dunno, you're entire living room, it might take two of these things. The other alternative is MH lighting on LumenMax reflectors or something similar.

![]() its gonna be a fowler tank with a bunch of groupers and bigger type fish, thanks to my love of predatory starfish corals are not gonna happen in this tank.im also a picture nerd so i want a nice bright tank, its a 8' tank and a 10'6" wall so i wont be looking through the sides often do you really think a 6' light would be ok?, mabey i would end up finding a slightly used coralife mh fixture in the giant tiger. i dont think im gonna build a canopy so retro fits probably wont work unless i change my plans.

![]() Hmmm, I'm not really sure about how well it would hold up to pictures. You might be better off to play it safe and go with MH pendants.
Giant Tiger is THE SOURCE for hard looking women... but not much else man, LOL!
