Default Some pics from the Waikiki Aquarium

Thought i would share a few of the pics i took at the waikiki aquarium.

They had lots of jelly fish tanks

This is there outdoor frag tank.

The first time ive gotten to see one of these, there awsome.

Also they are succesfully breading Nautalius's which is pretty cool
bad pic but i didnt want to scare them with the flash

I'd love to go see this aquarium some day. I've never been to Oahu except passing through. Is Honolulu/Waikiki a nice place to stay? I mean to me it feels like staying in any other large urban centre, I've always been tempted by more out of the way places.

Want to go somewhere warm this winter, kind of debating on going to Oahu to check out the aquarium.. But then again, a trip to see an aquarium, I also want to go see the new one in Atlanta.

Anyhow great pics, thanks for sharing. Hoping to see more soon!!!

my sister just came back from the Georgia Aquarium. I have not seen all the pictures yet but it looks really awesome. It's run by the former Waikiki boss..... Bruce Carleson (the surge device guy).

Cheers,
Aquaman

Very cool pics. I wish my main tank looked half as good as their tanks, or even just their frag tank.

Waikiki is an awsome place to stay ive been there 4 times. Its a nice mixture of beach life and touristy stuff. Lots to do. The Ocean at waikiki is the most amazing thing in the world. perfect water. I wish i was still there.

The one real nice thing about Hawaii (any of the islands) is how easy it is to get to from here.

But if you think the waters are awesome there, you should one day try going further south. It will blow you away. Having dived in the Barrier Reef a few years ago, and then in Hawaii this last summer (after not having been to Hawaii in about ten years) .. there's no comparison. It's *nice* and all, after all it's more than what we have here in Calgary but I found myself longing for some serious SPS structures, clams, anemones ...

It was once described to me that you can think of "Papua New Guinea" as "reefing ground zero". The further away you get from PNG, the younger the reefs and thus you can expect diversity to thin out correspondingly. It's all good, of course, don't get me wrong.

It's just too bad it's considerably more $$$ and hassle to get to such places. Oh well, guess there has to be a trade-off somehow.
