Skimmer Juice is on a distinguished road

coralife bulbs

I have a 24 inch coralife fixture two 36w bulbs.I went to take out the burnt out rear bulb.There is a black plug that I removed and the lttile sleeves on the post were corroded and they broke off.Just wondering if those had to be in contact or is my light boke?
