couldnt stand the look of barebottom, so i put sand in. was that a stupid thing to do? lol

I am going to try BB on my new tank so it will be interesting to see how long it lasts with me too. I have a DSB in my 230 and have always liked the look a lot better. I don't think I will be able to switch to SB on my new tank though unless I drastically reduce flow.

I did the same thing and added a SSB, but this time I will be replacing the sand every half year or so.

I don't like the look of BB. I've thought about taking out my sand for awhile now but for now I gravel-vac my SSB to keep it clean.

i love the look of BB where i dont have to clean the tank glass all the time.

less crud in the tank and you can jack the flow up more.
