I had 4 of them on my old 330G tank ( got them from KTH sales ) ... had them on 2 closed loops with mag 18's ... I now have a temp 270G setup with 1 on a mak 4 return and because the mak 4 is pressure rated it produces more flow than the mag 18's. Well worth the investment IMO especially for large tanks as you can produce 4 to 5 times the flow from a single pressure rated pump and cut down your eletricity costs

so perhaps I want to use one on a dolphin ampmaster 3000 pump which aren't known for their high pressure ability.. I'm sure it would still increase the flow, but not as much as a high head pump

how do I go about finding the pressure at the end of my return line?

It really wouldn't be worth it on an Ampmaster. If i remember correctly they need around a good psi to work like they are supposed to.

har har, It just occured to me that this penducter principle is why tunze turbelle streams are so high flow and well distributed...

It came to me after seeing this image: which is how a 15w pump can do 1800gph. ahhhhh physics. without the stream's educter end on it, it would only be doing about 400gph. go figure. time to play with some pvc and physics.

What is the result of the experiments? Were you able to DIY a eductor?

I thought I would dig up an old thread.

Thank you for the links. I will have to give one a try.

It appears to get good flow out of an eductor you need a pretty beefy pump. I will be trying this on a mag7, I doubt it will be much good. But I plan on adding a closed loop to my system one day, which this eductor may come in handy for.
