Default AppleSeed, the movie

Anyone catch this yet? I just saw it and I must say that is is most definitely the most breathtaking visual I have ever seen in an animated movie.

The main site is in Japanese, but you can find subbed versions at www.boxtorrents.com

I'll do a bit more of a review tommorow. It's super late and I know I'm going to regret this tommorow, haha.

I've only seen the older one from the mid 90's. This one does look pretty good though. Ghost in the Shell: Innocence is also quite a nice movie as is the Korean anime Wonderful Days.

YES! i have it. but have yet to watch it in its entirety.
i'm tryin to wait until i get my new TV.

i have, and have yet to see ghost in the shell 2 too.

they are both done in the same style... mostly CGI. which from what i have seen so far is just simply stunning!

on a side note, i just watched ghost in the shell the other night. i guess i am such a fish geek that in the opening scene, i was like, cool, the guy has a bunch of asian arowanas! the opening scene in the office building where the windows had moving images of a school of arowanas, simulating a huge aquarium!

Personally, I found the first GitS a bit overrated. Nothing groundbreaking there...

GITS 2 isn't spectacular either, but the CG is quite nice.

"Blood - The Last Vampire" is one of the better ones I have seen lately. I really enjoyed that it was such a simple story, almost real-time. Quite different from the overwritten plots straight from a graphic novel that are all too common in the genre. Not that they are all bad, though, "Akira" is still one of my all time favs.
