Default LED Accenting

Not too sure, maybe this belongs in the DIY section ? I have some LED strips, red & blue, for cars, I think just DC powered (not sure ov the voltage though). Is there any way to power these up with AC, so that I can use them for accent lighting ?
Thanks in advance.
