Default Extra base rock

I got lots of extra base rock and I'm not sure what to do with it. I got the idea of putting it in my sump (No lighting). What are some opinions on that idea? Thanks

Sure you could do that. Eventually it will turn into live rock, just not as pretty as the store bought live rock (it probably won't have as much life in terms of worms, pods, algae, sponges, etc).

You could pack it neatly in a box and ship it to me here in Calgary ... I know what to do with it
