Default LED Lighting

Here are some pics of my 26 Bowfront mini reef with 8 watts of led lighting. 8x 1watt white LED's, as is, it has a shimmer very similar to MH lighting but more crisp, small damaged bubble coral seems to love it, will be upgrading to 3x 5watt white LED's and 3x 5watt blue LED's, for a total of 30watts LED lighting, I think it will more than suffice for a SPS reef, I will post more on the much larger led lighting setups I will use on the 1200+ gallon display tank...
pics taken with no flash

In person I would have to say that it looks similar to MH lighting and the kelvin would look to be around 8-9000K, I have abunch of 5watt LED's too but dont have them on the tank right now, at 8 watts it looks the equivlent of about 40watts of lighting....something around there Im really not to sure, I really like the shimmer effect they give off, makes it nice and crisp!
when I make my LED lighting setup for the 1200+showtank, I will get a par meter to do some tests

I can get some pics of the casing soon but it is very primitive acrylic case to keep moisture away as it is just temporary

when I was playing around with the 6x 5watt LED's, it looked like it was as bright as a MH and it shimmered more intense with a very nice crisp white with a decent blue tint to it and corals glowed like I had 1,000,000watts of attinic lighting on them, I like LED's

I can try on some of the ones I have here this weekend. they are not 1 watt LED's though, Maybe Kyle could send me 1 white one and one blue one to test and then I can mail them back to him.

I've got some led fixtures, (3bulb, and 8bulb) that I'm gonna try using on my fuge at first (8bulb for fuge, 5 units total, and using the 3bulb (2x) for my moonlight).

Each fixture runs on 10-15.8 volts and uses only 80 Milliamps & produces 90,000 mcd, so it should be interesting to see how they work. Just need to wire up a powersupply for them, and I'm good to go.

That would be good.

How much did this cost to set up?

You should get some nice SPS under those and see how they do.
